What size gas bottle does the Rio Table require?

The Rio Table connects to standard LPG cylinders via the included 4-metre gas hose and pressure regulator. A 5kg bottle provides approximately 7.7 hours at full flame, 12.5 hours at medium setting, or up to 20 hours on the lowest flame setting. The long hose allows flexible positioning of the gas cylinder away from the table.

How much heat does this fire table actually produce?

The Rio Table generates 7-10kW of heat output, which provides noticeable warmth within a 2-3 metre radius. However, this is primarily designed as an atmospheric piece rather than a primary heat source. You'll feel the warmth most effectively when seated close to the table, making it perfect for intimate gatherings rather than heating large outdoor areas.

Is the glass top safe to place drinks and food on?

Yes, the tempered glass top is specifically designed for use as a coffee table surface. The wide bevelled edges remain cool enough for placing drinks and plates safely. The scratch and stain-resistant glass surface handles normal table use whilst the central fire chamber is completely separate from the tabletop area.

How difficult is the assembly process?

Assembly is straightforward and takes approximately 30 minutes. You simply attach the four legs to the main body, secure the glass wind shields and fill the fire chamber with the included decorative stones. The most important step is handling the glass top carefully during assembly as it's initially held only by tape until the wind shields are properly secured.

Can this table be left outside permanently?

Yes, the powder-coated galvanised steel construction and tempered glass are designed for outdoor use. However, the included grey cover should be used when not in use to protect the surface and prevent water accumulation in the fire chamber. Some users recommend additional covers for extended weather protection given the investment value.

How does the ignition system work?

The child-safe ignition requires you to turn the gas control knob whilst simultaneously pressing the igniter button. This two-step process prevents accidental activation. The igniter is powered by a single AAA battery and creates a spark to light the gas. The system works reliably in normal outdoor conditions.

What happens if it gets windy while using the table?

The glass side panels protect the flames from crosswinds effectively, but wind from the open ends can cause the flames to flicker or temporarily disappear. The flames don't extinguish completely but the visual effect is reduced. In very windy conditions, you may want to reposition the table or wait for calmer weather for the best flame display.
